In this stage, we will focus on positioning the white corners correctly. Follow these steps:
The white corner pieces are the last 4 pieces scattered across the cube that have a white side on them and two other colours, (white/red/green, white/red/blue, white/blue/orange and white/orange/green).
These pieces will either be already on the top white side (As you can see here with the White/Green/Red and White/Orange/Blue) or on the opposite side (White/Blue/Red and White/Green/Orange). We'll use the rightie algorithm (R U R' U') to get these pieces where we need them, so please be sure to review and practice this.
The first thing we need to do is turn the cube upside down so that the white cross is now on the bottom, and the yellow centre is shown at the top.
The next thing we'll do is look on the yellow side (The top at this time) for any corner pieces that have a white side. In our example we have two, we'll pick the white, blue and red one. (Your cube may be different, so just choose whichever you see that has a white side, if you don't have any white corner pieces on the yellow side then skip to bringing a white corner piece out of the bottom from where it doesn't belong..
Because we've chosen the white, blue and red corner piece, we need to find the red and blue sides of the cube by turning it, because this is where we're going to put this piece in the white side in the corner that has the blue and red sides.
Once we've got the blue side of the cube facing us, with the red side on the right side, we need to turn the top of the cube (U) so that the White/Red/Blue piece is between the Blue and Red Sides above where it will go on the white side.
The following will illustrate the move we need to make.
The next thing we'll do is put the piece (The White/Red/Blue piece in the example case) in the right position on the bottom White face using the rightie algorithm.
In this instance we need the Blue face to the front, and the red face to the right with the yellow centre on top and the white cross still at the bottom with the piece we want to move in the top right of the front face.
We'll do the rightie algorith.
We'll repeat the above steps to get the White/Green/Orange corner piece in the right place. So we'll follow these steps :
Sometimes pieces are already on the bottom but they're in the wrong place.
In this situation we need to move the piece out from the bottom White layer, and put it on the top Yellow side. Personally I do all the other white pieces that are on the Yellow side first as there is a chance that we may be moving one of these into the position that this one occupies and it'll naturally move it out. But if it doesn't we can follow these steps instead.
Again we use the rightie algorithm to move the piece out, it's really simple to do.
See this example below where we bring out the White/Orange/Blue corner that's already on the bottom between the Red and Green sides.
Youve learned all you need to be able to do the White corner pieces, but just to show you how to complete the last step of the above cube here is the last piece put into place using the above technique.
Below is the full solve that you see on this page in the order it was explained
